Baking Instructions - Dog Biscuit

  • Pre-heat oven to 275F.
  • Select a recipe above. Whirl all the ingredients together in a food processor or mixer.
  • Process until dough forms a large ball. Use a little more Pre-Mix if dough is sticky OR use additional water if dough seems crumbly.
  • Turn out dough and knead lightly.
  • Grease a cookie sheet OR line the pan with parchment/baking paper for perfect non-stick cookies every time! (Paper can be re-used.)
  • Place dough in the centre of the pan. Roll out to about 1/4 inch thickness.
  • With a sharp knife, score into bite size squares or small training treats.
  • Bake ONE hour at 275F degrees. Cookies should feel hard and dry in the centre; if not give them another ½ hour.
  • Turn off oven and let cookies cool for several hours in the oven.  When thoroughly cool and dry, remove from baking sheet, break into pieces.
  • Store in a container WITHOUT a lid or one that is NOT completely air tight; a wicker basket works well. Do NOT refrigerate.

Alternate Method for LIVER TRAINING TREATS

  • Substitute 1/2 lb. liver for the meat in Meaty Delights, and reduce the Pre-Mix amount to 2 cups.
  • Follow above instructions, reducing cooking time to approximately 20 minutes at 300F. Remove from oven before cookies become too dry. Cool and freeze. Refrigerate for up to 2 days. These training treats are very moist and meaty, and will go moldy quickly, so don't leave them in your pockets!
